From the University Museums Network to local territories, to protect and increase the biodiversity, strengthen the identities of the communities, promote the environmental education, the wellness of the citizens, the eco-sustainable tourism, through information technologies

The biodiversity, defined as a variety of forms of life, environments and landscapes, is a crucial point of connection between the idea of living heritage and the University Museums heritage, described and exposed according to the criteria developed over the centuries by the history of science.

VISION AND GENERAL GOAL

The project aims to enrich the University Museums with practices of knowledge that come from questioning the local territory, in order to contextualize the objects / specimens and to insert them in the cultural landscape through the involvement of local actors. This goal will be fulfilled thanks to the mapping of local territories in a participative way, in order to plan new sections or strategies of invitation to the museum which can grant its opening to different
audiences. The information thus gathered accord new value to the collections: as in a hyper-text, the objects of the museum become links toward elements and contents which exist outside the museum.
